The LAC Through Time

At the initiative of tradesmen, craftsmen and industrialists, the Tribunal of the Ljubljana Chamber of Trade, Craft and Industry (the Tribunal of the Chamber of TCI) is established by the Ljubljana Chamber of Trade, Craft and Industry

Upon its foundation, the Tribunal of the Chamber of TCI is based at the so-called Plečnik’s Palace in the offices of the Chamber of TCI (today the offices of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia)

In March 1929, the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes issues a notice approving the Rules of the Tribunal of the Ljubljana Chamber of Trade, Craft and Industry

Josip Pretnar, PhD, is appointed Legal Secretary of the Tribunal of the Chamber of TCI

The Tribunal of the Chamber of TCI starts working on revisions to the Rules of the Tribunal of the Chamber of TCI; in November 1934, the amendments are approved by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia

The Permanent Tribunal at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia is established by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia as the successor of the Tribunal of the Chamber of TCI

The Permanent Tribunal at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia is renamed the Permanent Tribunal-Arbitration at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia

The permanent Tribunal-Arbitration at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia is renamed the Permanent Court of Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia

As of 1999, the institution is headquartered at the offices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia at Dimičeva 13, Ljubljana

The Rules on Arbitral Proceedings before the Permanent Court of Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia are adopted (2000)

The Permanent Court of Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (now operating under new name: The Ljubljana Arbitration Centre at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia) undergoes a complete renovation and adopts a new logo

The new Arbitration Rules of the Ljubljana Arbitration Centre at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia – the Ljubljana Arbitration Rules are adopted, in force as of 1 January 2014

The new LAC Arbitrator’s Guidelines are adopted, in force as of June 2015

The new Mediation Rules of the Ljubljana Arbitration Centre at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia – the Ljubljana Mediation Rules are adopted, in force as of 1 January 2019

The new LAC Procedures for the Administration of Cases Under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules are adopted, in force as of 1 January 2019

The Ljubljana arbitration centre is celebrating its 95th anniversary. On this anniversary, the new Ljubljana Arbitration Rules will be adopted, which will come into force in 2023
