KOMUNIKACIJA V ARBITRAŽI
Cooperation between in-house counsel and external counsel
Milan Lazić
Arbitration is an increasingly common feature of modern life. Once confined to the specialized commercial transactions, arbitration clauses now appear in many day-to-day relations. This article refers to personal experience in present-day polemics about the importance of collaboration between in-house counsels and external counsels in different stages of arbitral proceedings.
Keeping in mind the general opinion that an in-house lawyer should be the ultimate jack of all trades, naturally required to know their company’s core business inside out, he or she is generally expected to be of utmost importance in creating the right strategy for the process and to be the external counsel’s key link to understanding the nature and the impact of a certain case to the client’s business.
